Criminal justice needs a better understanding of childhood trauma (theconversation.com)
It was picked up by the National Post, which makes me very proud to get the message out about the need for focus on criminal justice reform.
The role of childhood trauma, trauma at any age in fact, has deletrious impact on our mental health and the knowledge of its role will reshape the way that we think about mental illness, its prevention, and most effective treatment strategies that include trauma focus. So much work has been done to bring this to light and so much more work that needs to be done. I am grateful for the opportunity to add perspectives and my voice to a non-academic audience.
